Immix Unveils New Visual Camera Health Solution for Central Stations, SOCs and Command Centers
[Charlotte, April 3, 2025] –Immix®, the global provider of commercial central station and remote SOC software for managed video and security services, is excited to announce a new Visual Camera Health (VCH) solution for the Immix Central Station and Guard Force platforms. This solution enables central stations, monitoring centers, and security operations centers (SOCs) to leverage AI to monitor the visual health of cameras and be alerted to any issues or anomalies.
Bridging the Gap Between Native System and Monitoring Platform
The VCH solution goes beyond traditional camera health monitoring by assessing not only the quality of the camera’s view but also how the view appears to operators in the monitoring center and as it connects to the Immix platform. This capability is essential, as varying network configurations, bandwidth limitations, and latency issues may cause discrepancies between the native client or system and the actual image seen by operators. VCH ensures that each device is maintained as it was when initially set up and enabled for monitoring services, protecting both the monitoring center and the customer from potential issues.
VCH offers an affordable and easy-to-use solution. Once configured, each camera will be routinely inspected and will alert users when the view is compromised by such things as:
- Image clarity issues (blur or distortion)
- Unexpected changes in field of view (tilt or misalignment)
- Potential tampering or interference
- Obstructed or blocked view
- Lighting issues affecting visibility (glare or low light)
- Loss of video feed (black screen or no signal)
When an anomaly with a device is detected, an alert can be raised to an Immix operator, displaying both the reference image—the intended field of view that the camera should be set to—and the live image, which is a snapshot of the current video feed. This comparison allows the operator to clearly see any discrepancies. The operator will then follow a scripted workflow to address and rectify the issue. However, monitoring centers will have the option to decide whether or not they want this alert to be escalated to an operator in real-time. Since these anomalies are non-emergency in nature, monitoring centers may prefer to manage them more passively, utilizing the data at a later time. Immix allows users to filter events, ensuring that only critical events or those with detected anomalies are highlighted, giving users the flexibility to choose how they wish to handle these alerts.
“Ensuring the health of video surveillance systems has long been a challenge for monitoring centers,” said Chris Brown, CEO of Immix. “Too often, failures are only discovered after a critical event occurs. With VCH, we’re providing a proactive approach that enhances operational confidence, improves service quality, and helps security teams ensure video integrity at all times.”
VCH is more than just camera health. It ensures the Operator in the center using Immix can see the site. Other solutions can tell you the camera is working technically but can’t tell you it’s connecting through Immix properly. VCH does just that. End-to-end- confidence you can count on.
Unified Health Management for Comprehensive Operational Oversight:
As part of a broader initiative, the VCH solution is integral to Immix’s upcoming health management offering, which includes Zero Alarm Report, Ecare alarm management, system events, and more. Immix will soon roll out a unified dashboard that consolidates these essential tools, giving users a holistic view of the health of their operations, enabling more efficient management of their monitoring services.
